Update to Unit of Measurement Release
Hello! The Dispatcher team would like to thank you for your patience and feedback after our most recent release on how weight is recorded and displayed in Dispatcher. While we feel this is an excellent release, we also understand that having additional unit values displayed is important for tracking and billing. Please read below carefully about these changes.
Drivers Application
After the initial release, there will be no changes to the drivers application. Drivers can select the Weight Unit type in the application to match what Weight Unit type is provided to them at the disposal facility.
For the drivers application, from the Admin, you can still select what default Weight Unit type you want the driver to enter, but they can also record the Weight Unit type as is from the disposal facility. Go to Settings - Company Settings - Select Default Weight Unit
Ticket Details Page
On the Tickets Details page, Dispatcher will show at the Weight and Weight Unit value at Ticket Details page as follows:
US Users
Pounds and Tons
Note: If Cubic Yards is entered, the other values will not be displayed as there is no conversion.
Canadian Users
Kilograms, Imperial Tons, tons
Note: If Cubic Yards is entered, the other values will not be displayed as there is no conversion.
Note for ALL users: Tons will be displayed as Imperial Tons (T) and metric tons (t)
Once the Admin clicks “Edit Ticket” on the Ticket Details page, Dispatcher will show the weight and unit value as entered by the driver. There will be no conversion done at this level if the Admin chooses to change the weight or the unit type.
Tickets Page
On your main Ticket Page, the weight value and type will be shown as recorded by the driver. Additionally, when information is exported from Dispatcher, the value will show as recorded with the other weight value conversions provided. Again, Cubic Yards will have no conversion.
Happy New Year!
